Samoan Language Week 2015
"Tautua nei mo sou manuia a taeao" - "Serve now for a better tomorrow"
Have you been to visit our school library this week? There are some wonderful displays in the library celebrating Samoan language. We hope you pop in to have a read of some of the Samoan texts we have on display.

Writing Competition
Over the past week we have had four of our Year 5 students working on a creative story to submit for the Paper Plus Story writing competition. The four students, all girls, eagerly took up the opportunity to get their creative juices flowing. The girls worked on an initial draft of their story over a weekend and then spent a week of before school and lunchtime sessions re-crafting their writing and getting it ready for publishing.
The competition was open to all Year 5 primary school students across New Zealand, and was an opportunity for students to celebrate their imagination. Entrants who submitted a story will be in to win vouchers to spend at Paper Plus. Our students are now waiting for their stories to be reviewed by a judging panel!
Here are our 4 students hard at work during one of their lunch time sessions! Good luck girls! We'll keep posted (excuse the pun) about the outcome of their work.
